1. What Giftabiz Is
Giftabiz is a gifting platform for people launching or building something. When your friend opens a bakery, your daughter launches a yoga studio, or your neighbor hits their one-year anniversary in business — Giftabiz gives their people a real way to back them.
We're not a fundraising platform. We're not a charity site. We're a celebration platform — a way to say "I believe in you" with real money and a video message that lasts forever.
These Guidelines describe how our community works: who's welcome, what's allowed, what's not, and how we handle problems. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Our Values
Everything on Giftabiz comes back to three simple values:
- Honesty. Real businesses. Real people. Real stories. No pretending.
- Kindness. This is a place to celebrate, not to attack. Support your people, respect other users.
- Simplicity. Clear campaigns. Clear intent. Clear communication. No hidden agendas.
3. Who Can Use Giftabiz
3.1 Anyone Launching or Growing a Business
You don't need to be an LLC to use Giftabiz. Sole proprietors, DBAs, LLCs, corporations, partnerships, and nonprofits are all welcome. Whatever your business structure — from "just me and an idea" to a fully-formed company — if you're building something real and legal, you belong here.
Bakeries, salons, gyms, food trucks, coffee shops, consulting firms, photographers, coaches, tutors, tradespeople, artists, boutiques, home services, wellness practitioners, farmers, mechanics, cleaners, therapists, writers, developers, restaurants, studios, service providers, e-commerce brands, franchises. If you're building it, backing you belongs here.
3.2 Anyone Backing a Business
If you want to support someone's business launch or milestone, you're welcome to send a Gift. You must be 18 or older and use your own payment method.
3.3 Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, launch a campaign, or send a Gift on Giftabiz. This applies to everyone.
4. What Kinds of Campaigns Are Allowed
Giftabiz campaigns should be tied to a business or business-adjacent activity. That includes:
- New business launches — opening a new bakery, salon, studio, or shop
- Going full-time — leaving your day job to build the thing you love
- Business milestones — hitting one year, ten thousand customers, or another big moment
- Reopenings and expansions — coming back after renovation, adding a second location
- Business anniversaries — celebrating years in business with your community
- Product launches — bringing your first product or service to market
- Business relocations — moving to a new space and needing your community's support
If your reason to launch a campaign doesn't fit one of these but still centers on a business activity, that's usually fine — just make it clear in your campaign description.
5. What's Not Allowed
Medical bills, funeral expenses, help with rent, personal debt, disaster relief — these are important causes, but they belong on GoFundMe, not here. Giftabiz campaigns must be tied to a business or business-adjacent activity.
The following are prohibited on Giftabiz. Campaigns in these categories will be removed:
5.1 Illegal Activities
- Anything illegal under U.S. federal or state law
- Anything designed to help someone break the law
- Fraudulent or deceptive business practices
5.2 Prohibited Business Categories
- Adult content, pornography, or sexually explicit material
- Cannabis, marijuana, CBD, or related products (regardless of state legality)
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons
- Gambling, lotteries, sweepstakes, or games of chance
- Multi-level marketing (MLM), pyramid schemes, or Ponzi schemes
- Cryptocurrency, NFTs, or blockchain-based financial products
- Financial services, investment products, or lending
- Debt collection, debt consolidation, or credit repair services
- Personal fundraising (medical bills, disaster relief, personal debt)
- Political campaigns, PACs, or partisan advocacy organizations
- Any business Stripe restricts (see Stripe's Restricted Business list)
5.3 Prohibited Content and Behavior
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or targeted attacks
- Content that discriminates based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Fake campaigns or misrepresenting who you are or what you're building
- Using someone else's photos, videos, or content without permission
- Copyright infringement of any kind
- Spam, mass unsolicited messaging, or platform abuse
- Impersonating another person, business, or entity
- Circumventing platform fees by redirecting Gifts off-platform
- Attempting to manipulate the platform (fake accounts, fake Gifts, fake video messages)
6. Content Standards for Campaigns
6.1 Be Truthful
Everything on your campaign page should be accurate — who you are, what your business is, when you plan to launch, and how the money will help. Making claims you can't back up damages trust in the whole platform.
6.2 Own Your Content
Photos, videos, and stories on your campaign should be yours or used with permission. If you use a photographer's images, license their music, or include content featuring other people, get their consent first.
6.3 Keep It Appropriate
Campaign pages are public. Your grandmother might see them. Keep photos, videos, and language appropriate for a general audience.
6.4 No Copyrighted Music Without Permission
If you include background music in your videos, it must be royalty-free, original, or properly licensed. This protects both you and the platform.
7. Content Standards for Gift Messages
When you send a Gift with a video or written message:
- Keep it positive and supportive — Giftabiz is a celebration platform
- Don't include content that attacks, threatens, or embarrasses anyone
- Don't include copyrighted music, photos, or content without permission
- Understand that your message may be shared publicly by the recipient
- Keep it appropriate for all audiences
8. Nonprofits on Giftabiz
Registered nonprofits (501(c)(3) organizations and equivalent) are welcome to launch business-related campaigns on Giftabiz — for example, opening a new community center, launching a program, or celebrating an organizational milestone.
Gifts sent through Giftabiz are not tax-deductible, even to a registered nonprofit. This is because Giftabiz is a gifting platform, not a registered charitable donation platform. Nonprofits seeking tax-deductible donations should use their existing donation infrastructure. Donors should consult their tax advisor.
9. How We Handle Reports and Enforcement
9.1 Reporting Violations
If you see a campaign or user that violates these Guidelines, report it to report@giftabiz.com. Include:
- The URL of the campaign or profile
- What specifically concerns you
- Any supporting information (screenshots, links, context)
We review every report and respond within five (5) business days.
9.2 What Happens After a Report
We review reports in good faith. Depending on what we find, we may:
- Take no action if the report doesn't reflect a violation
- Reach out to the campaign owner for clarification
- Require the campaign owner to make changes
- Remove specific content from the campaign
- Pause or remove the campaign entirely
- Suspend or terminate the user's account
- Refund contributors in cases of confirmed fraud (via Stripe disputes)
- Report to law enforcement if illegal activity is involved
9.3 Repeat Violations
First-time minor violations usually result in a warning and required changes. Repeat violations, serious violations, or willful misuse result in account termination. Users terminated for cause may not create new accounts.
9.4 Appealing a Decision
If you believe we've made a mistake, you can appeal by emailing report@giftabiz.com within 30 days of the enforcement action. Explain what happened and why you think it was in error. We review appeals in good faith.
10. Affiliate Recommendations and Disclosures
From time to time, Giftabiz may recommend third-party services that our users often need — like business formation services, business banking, accounting tools, or business insurance. We only recommend services we believe genuinely help our users.
When we recommend a third-party service, we may receive a commission if you sign up through our link, at no additional cost to you. We disclose these relationships wherever affiliate links appear. Our recommendations are based on quality and fit for our users, not commission size.
11. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines as our platform grows and new situations come up. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date and, if the changes significantly affect users, notify subscribers by email or a prominent notice on the site.
Your continued use of Giftabiz after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
